Matthew Legare and Phil GarrettHowdy - Matthew Legare, Senior Technical Support Specialist and Workbench Guy for NetObjects here... over the coming weeks I'll be sharing some tips, tricks and other cool stuff you can do with NetObjects Fusion with you through eFuse.com. If you like
what you see here, and are interested in checking out more stuff on Fusion, check out the Workbench (an "officially unofficial" NetObjects Fusion tip site).Summary Fashion Update: Don't see the newest styles in your list? We'll show you how.Invisible Banners: Want your banner to be just type, not graphics?Multi-nav bars:
Is one style not enough for your Nav bars? We've got a solution. Update Styles List I created a series of custom styles in NetObjects Fusion 2.0 and copied them to the Styles folder of my NetObjects Fusion 3.0.1installation, but they do not show up in Style view in 3.0.1. How can I correct this?- In Style view, select Update Styles List from the Style pull-down menu.
Fusion will scan the \NetObjects Fusion 3.0.1\Styles folder for any new styles, identified by the .SSF file present in the individual style folders. When this process is complete, an alert box will appear with the following message: "Completed importing all styles found in the NetObjects Fusion\Styles folder." It will then add these styles to Style view for the current site.
Fusion also adds these new styles to the Blank Site template (This is the template on which all new sites are based). The net effect is that any new sites you create will have the new styles in their Style views. Invisible banner Want your banner to appear just as text, without any kind of graphic button or box behind it? - Create a graphic box the the same color as your page background or image (if you're background is white, make the graphic box white). Then it will blend into the background, appear invisible, and all your site visitors will see is the automatically generated graphic text. It's
a great way to add personality to your site without any manual intervention (or having to crack open a graphics program).
Multiple NavBar Styles
Want to have more than one style of automatically generated graphic navigation buttons on your site? You can. Simply create a new style that has the kind of buttons you want. Then place a navbar and go to the properties palette. Under Button Style, select "other" and choose the style you just created for your other set of buttons. Voila.
